Our Lives

Those who brng sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves - a quote from James M. Barrie

Selling The Company

Okay, I need a break. Today was the day that we switched everything over for our company to the new company. What a whirlwind. We are going to busier than ever answering questions and holding customer’s hands through the transition. That’s okay, we have always given great customer service, and that is not about to change. It should only be a couple of weeks.

On another note - Jay spent his first day in the model today and he has an appointment with some people that came through today for tomorrow at 1:00 to write a contract! Yeah! Will keep you posted on that.

Okay, Jen and Matt have found a very funny thing to do with their spare time. I am tempted to post the results here, just waiting for “permission” to do so. Keep watching, because the minute I have permission, I am posting a link!

A Good Day

Another Good day spent with Matt and Jen on Sunday. We took a drive to Prescott through the mountains. We looked around, did a little shopping (Jen and I both found some great Minnetonka sandals!), had a beer at Matt’s Saloon (had to say we’d been there!), had dinner, drove out to Willow Creek lake and came home. Matt and Jen had never been to Prescott. To get there though the mountains, you go through the National Forest. This is a Ponderosa Pine forest and is beautiful. There are lots of hiking trails, camping, picnic areas and the like.

I’ll bet Matt and Jen will be making another trip to take advantage of all that!!

Did I mention the excitment at Matt’s Saloon? Matt and Jay got hit on! Yup, you read me right. They sauntered up to the bar in this old cowboy saloon and ordered beers for all but me. I had a cosmo, which is probably what did it because when Jay was holding my drink, the guy sitting at the bar said (referring to Matt and Jay), “you two make a great couple….”. The bar tender said something about them coming in with some ladies, and the guy said to Matt, “Well, you’re cute anyway!”. We got a great laugh out of that.

That all happened before Matt bought his Macho and Manly cowboy hat. No one messed with him after that! ; )

All in all it was a great day…plenty of laughs and good times.

Michigan Trip

Great trip to Michigan for a long weekend. Had a great dinner and visit with Joe and Sharon et al. Was great to see everyone. Wish Donna and Jim hadn’t had plans and could have made it over there for dinner too. Maybe next time.

The cottage was still standing when we got there on Thursday. We were really concerned about the well and had called a plumber before we went. He said to check the pressure of the bladder (not the tank) and if need be to pump it up (with a bicycle pump to 28. We did that (it was at 0) and it was fine all weekend. Hope it stays pressurized for the summer!

Found out that Verizon famous network doesn’t extend to Ludington. All the surrounding areas were great, but for some reason not Ludington. Totally stinks.

Got the boat and dock in - cleaned up the place from the winter - and enjoyed our stay. Caleb and Amber came on Saturday night and stayed through Monday. That was a great visit!!!!! We went to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, (Amber had never been to Lake Michigan) and had dinner at the Boone Docks in Glen Arbor for Mothers Day. What a great place to eat!

Got home late last night, unpacked and had lots of work and laundry to catch up on today.

Gone for Now : (

Okay, Mom and Dad left today. It was really hard taking them to the airport. Hard to say goodbye. But, they’ll be back. Hopefully they won’t wait unti October, but come in September!!!!!

We went over to Matt and Jen’s afterward. It was another good day.
Got a pedicure/manicure - went to Hobby Lobby (my new favorite store) - went to lunch - hung out at the pool - went to the mall to get Jen after her makeover - went to dinner - hung out at the Westgate Center. Much fun! Never a dull moment with these two!

Westgate is very cool. I think once they’re done it will be an awesome place to go. It really already is with just the few places that are open. There is a beautiful fountain, in one of the open area’s there was a band that was pretty good, and just a general sense of fun.

Chasing Cards

Well, tonight we played cards with our friends Bob and Wally from across the street. The guys won most of the games again tonight. I told them they were getting on my last nerve. At least we won the last two games. Now the guys are a total of 10 games ahead of us! Ridiculous but fun.

Bob and Wally are very great people and a lot of fun. They came from MI too - Plymouth to be exact. They even went to Ward Church and Trinity. Small world.
