The Irony
By Lynn | July 17, 2008
So, I mentioned that I updated Jay’s WordPress software version. I did it mostly so that he could easily bring in rss feeds right into his blog. Well, after I did that, and one of the functions wasn’t working, I did some research and found out that the next WP version was in beta. WP has been telling me for a while that I needed to upgrade the software, but not for that long.
So anyway, I started adding some of the new plugins that I wanted on the blog and went to the admin tool (mind you this is just 3-4 days after I updated everything) and the admin is now saying that Jay’s version of WP is outdated. Please update now!
Obviously, they didn’t test the beta for too long, so I think I will wait and see what the forums are saying before I go to the trouble of making a backup of the database, and all the files, then delete all but 3 files from the old version and upload the new version. Too much trouble unless I know it will be good.
When I upgraded Jay’s blog to this version, it took me 4 hours to get the site so it would show up. I was getting pretty nervous. I haven’t upgraded this one. Think I’ll wait on it too.
